The NSE Nifty closed at 17,754.40, up 42.95 points or 0.24 per cent. Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Financial Services, said that global markets have come under pressure after US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell’s comment on interest rates hike. Kunal Shah, Senior Analyst, LKP Securities, said that despite the negative global sentiment, Indian stock markets saw a sharp rally from lower levels. He added that as long as the Nifty sees support near 17,500 levels on the downside, the market will continue to be bought.
