Fierce fire at Apple’s supplier Foxlink’s plant, biggest shed burnt to ashes, production stopped

Foxlink Fire: A massive fire broke out at a plant of cable manufacturer Foxlink in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, halting production there. Foxlink supplies cables to global gadget maker Apple. According to the police, the fire broke out around 1.15 pm yesterday and there was no report of any casualty in the incident.

The cause of the fire is being ascertained

A police officer said that around 750 people were working at the plant located in Jinkalamitta village at the time of the fire and all of them managed to get out safely in time. According to the official, sponge and other materials were kept in the plant, due to which the flames spread rapidly and engulfed the entire plant. He said that the cause of the fire is being ascertained.

Fire confined to one shed

Renigunta Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) A Ramachandra said that the fire was confined to one shed and did not spread to the other two sheds, which had a dining room and a kitchen, due to the timely arrival of fire engines. He said- Out of the three sheds, the biggest shed was burnt to ashes, while the other two sheds were safe. The biggest shed is where all the production takes place
