Farmer Protest : About 85 farmer leaders have been detained by the police for demanding compensation for damaged crops and other demands. Currently, the farmer leaders have postponed the decision to go to Chandigarh. Farmer leaders say that they will take a decision after the meeting.

Apart from Amritsar, Jalandhar and Tarn Taran, farmers are sitting at the toll plazas of different districts. On the other hand, permanent marches have been put up outside Longowal police station in Moga and Sangrur.

Social media accounts of farmer leaders have also been blocked (temporarily blocked) to prevent the spread of this message. The accounts of many farmer leaders, including farmer leader Ramandeep Singh Maan of village Severa, have been closed.

The intention of the farmers is only to hurt the government, for which the farmers have closed the FASTag scanners by opening the gates of the toll plazas. District President of Tarn Taran Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee Satnam Singh Manochahl said that most of the leaders including general secretary Sarwan Singh Pandher have been arrested, while some have managed to evade the raiding police parties.
