Punjab's CIA staff Faridkot has arrested an accused with heroin worth lakhs of rupees. The police have recovered 50 grams of heroin from the accused. The police have registered a case under the NDPS Act against the accused in police station City Kotakpura. The accused will be produced in court soon.
ASI Charanjit Singh of CIA staff said that he was on a regular patrol with the police party, they had just reached the flyover when they saw a man standing on the flyover who got scared seeing the police team in front and he was there. He started trying to get down to the road from the stairs, when his condition appeared suspicious, the police team took immediate action and arrested him.
During the interrogation, the arrested accused revealed his name as Karanjit Singh alias Karan, resident of Bhadinan Wala Chowk, District Tarn Taran. During the search, 50 grams of heroin was recovered from the accused. Police remand is being obtained by presenting the accused in the court, so that it can be ascertained from where the accused used to bring heroin and where he used to supply it.
