Popular actor-filmmaker K Vishwanath has passed away. He breathed his last at the age of 92 in a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was admitted to the hospital for the last few days. According to reports, Vishwanath was battling age-related ailments for a long time.

With the death of Vishwanath, there has been a wave of mourning in the southern film industry. All are paying homage to the famous director. Vishwanath started his career in Tamil cinema in 1951 as an assistant director. He made his directorial debut with the 1965 film ‘Atma Gauravam’. Some of his best films include ‘Swathi Muthyam’, ‘Sirivenela’, ‘Shankarabharanam’ and others. K Vishwanath has been honored with many prestigious awards and honors of the country including Padma Shri, 6 National Film Awards, 8 Nandi Awards.
