Did Vikram and Pragyan sleep forever! No signal has been sent yet, know how successful Chandrayaan-3 was

The sun has risen again on the moon and sunlight has reached the South Pole, but the Vikram lander and the Pragyan rover have yet to send a wake-up call. ISRO scientists are constantly trying. If Vikram and Pragyan become active then it will be a surprise success.

According to astronaut Suvendu Patnaik, the Chandrayaan-3 lander and rover were designed to operate on the Moon for 14 days. This is because after this it becomes night here.

At night, the temperature of the moon drops to -250 degrees. In such a situation, during these 14 days, Chandrayaan had completed his work and ISRO had given all the data from the lunar surface to the scientists as expected.

After covering a distance of 105 meters from the landing site at the Moon’s south pole, the lander and rover were put to sleep before nightfall.
Before putting the rover to sleep, it was positioned in such a way that sunlight would fall directly on the solar panels at sunrise. It happened as expected. In such a situation it is expected to wake up.

According to ISRO, some circuits of the Vikram lander were not allowed to sleep, they were awake. Despite this when Vikram after sunrise on the moon
Attempts are being made to wake up the lander and Pragyan rover but no signal is being received from them.

The plan was to send the rover at a distance of 300 to 350 meters from Shiva Shakti Point. He had yet to discover the presence of water on the moon. In such a case, if the rover wakes up, it will be used again.

Will the lander work again after sunrise or will it stay asleep?

According to scientist Patnaik, chances of rover and lander working again are very low. The reason for this is that no electronic machine can work properly in such a low temperature.
Some scientists hope the lander and rovers can work again. If this happens it will prove to be a boon and the experiment will be repeated in all lunar missions.
Also, ISRO says that if the lander’s electronic systems are not damaged in the cold during the lunar night, they can wake up again. However, so far scientists have not succeeded in this.
Nilesh M Desai, director of the Space Applications Center (SAC), says there is a fifty-fifty chance that the lander and the rover will wake up. It will be a big win if Land Rover parts do not get damaged even in such cold weather. Even if this is not the case, its mission has been accomplished.

What will happen after the lander and rover wake up?
ISRO says that once the lander and rovers are up and running, they can be used for years. Each time it will be possible for the lander and rover to sleep before nightfall and wake up after dawn.

ISRO scientist Tapan Mishra says that the lander and the rover have provided information about many substances. If both reawaken, it will be possible to detect hydrogen. If hydrogen is found then the presence of water on the moon will be considered certain. This is because hydrogen is not a compound of any substance other than water.

If the rover does not wake up, what could be the reason?
Former ISRO chairman AS Kiran Kumar told in an interview that there could be two reasons for this…

1. Temperatures on the Moon reach -250 degrees Celsius. The battery is not designed for such low temperatures.

2. Most of the electronic components of rover and lander can be damaged in such low temperature.
