Delhi Woman Lost Rs 61900 While Booking Doctor Appointment Online All Details

Cybercrime cases are increasing rapidly and India is no exception to it. Incidents of scams and hacking are being reported every day from many parts of the country. A Delhi-based television producer was allegedly duped of Rs 61,900 by a fraudster when she tried to book an online appointment for a doctor’s consultation, a latest report suggests.

NDTV’s According, Delhi Police said on Thursday that a woman from Delhi, who is a television producer by profession, was duped of Rs 61,900. According to the police, Tabassum Qureshi, a resident of Delhi’s Daryaganj and working as a producer of television programmes, has alleged that she was duped of around Rs 61,900 by a fraudster on the pretext of getting her a doctor’s appointment in Delhi. The incident is being told of December 29, 2022.

The report further states that Tabassum has stated in her complaint that she had found the number of Dr. Sumit Jain’s private clinic on the internet. When she first dialed the number, the call did not connect, but later she got a call from an unknown number and the suspect said that he would book an appointment.

According to the police, “After introducing himself as an employee of the clinic, the suspect asked Tabassum to give Rs 5 as a donation to the children of the orphanage through a payment link. The woman tried to make the payment but first So the payment was made, after which he used his sister-in-law’s mobile for payment.”

Police further said that Tabassum’s sister-in-law also received payment from her mobile, but after 5-10 minutes, she got a message that Rs 51,900 has been deducted from her account.

Not only this, after a few minutes, Tabassum got another message that Rs 10,000 had been deducted from her mother Sardar Qureshi’s account as well.

Delhi Police registered a case under Section 420/120B at Cyber โ€‹โ€‹Police Station, Central Delhi on February 28 and now investigation has been started.
