Policeman Manpreet’s father ASI Ramji said that his son was bitten by a poisonous insect on his hand. Due to increasing infection in the body, the family admitted their son Manpreet to AIIMS Bassi Hospital on September 15. Manpreet is posted in Naib Court. According to Ramji, the doctor applied some medicine on his arm, due to which Manpreet’s arm got burnt. The sleeve swelled up. Her son cried in pain all night.

Placed on ventilator

The next morning the doctor told them that Manpreet will have to be put on a ventilator. According to the family, Manpreet was kept on ventilator for 2 to 3 consecutive days. Late on the night of September 18, the doctor told the family that if their boy was not getting treatment, they should refer him and he would take him to the PGI.

According to Ramji, the doctor told him that if his son was taken off the ventilator, he would die within 3 minutes. According to the father, at around 2.30 in the night, the hospital staff informed him that his son had died. The hospital administration asked them to hand over the dead body at 9 am.

A pulse was found while being taken for post-mortem

Ramji said that Manpreet is a government employee, his postmortem was to be done, when he was being kept in the ambulance with the help of other policemen, suddenly one of the employees came to know that Manpreet’s pulse was running. Father Ramji said that he immediately took his son to DMC Hospital by forcing the hospital administration to keep an oxygen cylinder in the ambulance. Now Manpreet’s condition is stable in DM. He is being treated.

A wave of mourning spread in the village and the police line
ASI Ramji said that when he informed about the death of his son Manpreet in the police line to his relatives, the village and his fellow policemen, everyone was overwhelmed with grief. The work of collecting wood for the pyre had also started in the village. It was also known in Gurdwara Sahib etc. Family members were in a bad mood due to crying at home. All the relatives and others were immediately informed as soon as the news of the son’s heart failure was received. The family has now breathed a sigh of relief.
