Patiala’s talented cricketer Kanika Ahuja has been selected in the Indian women’s cricket team for the Asian Games to be held in China. Kanika Ahuja, daughter of Patiala native Surinder Kumar, a popular player in the Women’s Premium League representing RCB, is also the captain of the Punjab Women’s Cricket Team. She has been receiving coaching from Coach Kamal Sandhu since 2013 at the Cricket Hub Academy in Patiala.

Kanika Ahuja is an all round player. Apart from batting left-handed, he is also a right-handed bowler. She has also been the captain of Under-16 and Under-19 Punjab cricket team. Kanika was born on 7th August 2002.

Since childhood, she used to play cricket with boys, after which her father enrolled her in the Cricket Hub Academy. Apart from cricket, he is also fond of skating. Kanika did her early education from Sri Aurobindo International School, Patiala. After this he graduated from Hindu College Amritsar. According to information, his cricket career was hampered due to injury a few years ago, but due to his hard work and passion, he later made a great comeback on the field.
