Was taken in custody after a meeting in Chandigarh
After a meeting with Chandigarh, he was taken into custody, on March 19, there was a seventh round meeting with the Union Ministers of agitating farmers in Chandigarh. The meeting was attended by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Prahlad Joshi and Piyush Goyal, while 3 ministers including Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema attended the Punjab government.
In the meeting, the farmers’ organizations were adamant on the demand for the law of guaranteeing the minimum support price (MSP). Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that the list given by the farmers can arise some issues. They want to discuss this with all the ministries associated with agriculture, which may take time. There was no solution in the 4 -hour meeting.
As soon as the farmers started going back, they were taken into custody by the police as soon as they entered from Chandigarh to Punjab. At the same time, Jagjit Singh Dallawal was taken into custody in an ambulance near Sangrur. There was also a shock between farmers and police here.
