With the increase in the reach of internet in the last few years, the scope of cyber crimes has also increased. In a similar case, a gang of cyber criminals has been arrested, who allegedly used to cheat by creating fake websites of D-Mart, Big Basket and Big Bazaar.

Six members of this gang have been arrested in Noida. He had cheated people of crores of rupees. Regarding this, Additional DCP of Noida Police, Rajeev Dixit told That these thugs used to offer goods at discounted or cheap rates to attract buyers. After this, during the payment, they used to get information about the credit or debit cards of the customers and used it to fraudulently withdraw money from the bank accounts of the customers. The cyber helpline team of Gautam Buddha Nagar police arrested this gang on April 3. They duped people of crores of rupees by creating fake websites similar to those of retail companies like Dmart, Big Bazaar and Big Basket.

Dixit told that the members of this gang are residents of Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar. He has cheated many people in Delhi NCR region as well as in other parts of the country. Police have recovered three laptops, four mobile phones, two debit cards and some cash from them. An FIR has been registered against the accused at Bisrakh Police Station under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Recently, a Delhi-based television producer was allegedly duped of Rs 61,900 by a fraudster when she tried to book an online appointment for a doctor’s consultation. Delhi Police had told that Tabassum Qureshi, a resident of Daryaganj and producer of television programmes, has alleged that a fraudster duped her of about Rs 61,900 on the pretext of getting her a doctor’s appointment. This incident happened in December last year. Tabassum in her Complaint I have said that he got the number of the doctor’s clinic on the internet. When they dialed the number, the call did not connect but later they received a call from an unknown number and the suspect said that he would book an appointment. After this they had cheated him.
