People of Karnataka have rejected BJP’s issues like Bajrangbali, Tipu Sultan, Hijab, Namaz. Congress came out with the slogan of Pay-CM and 40% Govt and gave majority. Congress has won 135 seats out of 224 seats in Karnataka.
BJP has got 66 seats. One seat result cleared in their account today. This seat is Jayanagar. Earlier, Soumya of BJP had won here with 160 votes. The BJP staged an uproar and recounted, with BJP candidate Ramamurthy winning by just 16 votes.
Earlier, after the results on Saturday, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said- BJP used to taunt us that we will create a Congress-free India. Now it is a fact that South India has become BJP free. This is our big victory after 36 years.
Along with this, Rahul Gandhi said in Delhi – We did not fight with hatred. Karnataka has shown that the country loves. Our main five promises will be fulfilled in the very first cabinet meeting.
Only 8 women became legislators
185 women candidates were in the fray in the Karnataka assembly elections, out of which only 8 won. BJP had 12 candidates, 2 won. Congress had 11 candidates, 3 won. JDS had 13 candidates, 2 won. There were 149 independent candidates, only 1 won.
