CM Bhagwant Mann announced to develop Mohali as the hub of the state

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said here today that Mohali will be developed as a hub of the state and no stone will be left unturned to ensure development of the city on scientific lines to facilitate industries.

Addressing the gathering during the government-industry meeting here today, the Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to the all-round development of Mohali so that maximum investment can be brought here. He said that Mohali city, equipped with modern facilities, has great potential to develop as an industrial hub of the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Mohali city will lead the state once it is developed on ultra-modern lines and this model of development will be replicated in other parts of Punjab as well.

Giving a big relief to the industrialists, the Chief Minister also announced a one-year extension to the entrepreneurs for construction on their industrial plots. He said that the state government is committed to the welfare of the industrialists of the state and their every legitimate demand will be considered sympathetically. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the purpose of the government-industrialist meeting is to ensure direct interaction with the leaders of the industry so that their needs can be understood and acted upon accordingly.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has turned the red tape practice prevalent during the previous governments into a red carpet for industrialists. He said that a dedicated single window system has already been started by the state government to facilitate the industrialists. Bhagwant Singh Mann further said that moving forward in this direction, the state government will now issue ‘deemed approvals’ for new industrial units.

Emphasizing on developing the focal points across the state as model industrial hubs, the Chief Minister said that the state government has already paved the way for this purpose. He said that the state government wants to provide maximum employment opportunities to the youth to stop the trend of skill migration. Bhagwant Singh Maan also gave an example of a young man who returned to India from Australia and started a restaurant and with hard work and dedication took his business to the heights of success.

The Chief Minister invited industrialists to invest in Punjab as currently Punjab is one of the most preferred investment destinations worldwide. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he wants to replace drugs in the hands of the youth. He said that this is possible only when new employment opportunities are created for the youth which requires industrialization on a large scale.

The Chief Minister said that he is ready to approve maximum number of industrial units but the industrialists should also promise him that they will provide jobs to the youth of the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjab has so far received an investment of Rs 50871 crore which will create 2.86 lakh jobs for the youth. He said that more investment would be received in the coming days to boost economic activities in the state.

Terming the introduction of green stamp paper in the state as an important achievement, the Chief Minister said that positive changes are being seen with this initiative and it has also reduced the burden on the industries, thereby saving their energy, money and time. is He said that the economic environment created in Punjab after the ‘AAP’ government came to power has attracted a large number of investments. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that today Punjab is the most peaceful state in the country due to which a large number of investors want to invest here.

The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that the state government has fulfilled the major election promises of free electricity, Aam Aadmi Clinic, School of Eminence and others in just 18 months of its tenure. He further said that the promises which were not made to the people by the state government have also been fulfilled. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is making concrete efforts for the welfare of every section of the society.

The Chief Minister announced setting up of 14 new police posts at focal points across the state to create a sense of security among the entrepreneurs. He said that the state government is already launching road security force to prevent deaths due to accidents on national highways. Bhagwant Singh Mann reiterated the commitment of the Punjab government to ensure the overall development of the state and the progress of the people.

Earlier, the Chief Minister held discussions with the industrialists and on the spot gave instructions to the officials to solve their problems. He said that we have paid special attention to solving the problems of industrialists in the administration.
