Chhattisgarh News: The news of a rally in Chhattisgarh in support of Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh is in headlines, on which the statement of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has come to the fore. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel gave his reaction in the assembly a day after a group of people took out a rally in the state capital Raipur in support of alleged Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh. Expressing displeasure over the matter, he said that anti-national activities will not be tolerated in Chhattisgarh.
In the assembly, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that he has directed the police to check the video footage of the rally and take strict action against those who raised anti-national slogans during the march or supported such activities. Earlier, the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party raised the issue of the rally during Zero Hour in the Assembly and said that Khalistan supporters took out a foot march in Raipur. During this, he targeted the government over the “deteriorating” situation of law and order in the state.
Opposition legislators claim intelligence failure
Opposition legislators, including BJP’s Ajay Chandrakar and Brijmohan Agarwal, targeted the police, claiming intelligence failure and how such a rally was taken out in the capital without the police’s knowledge. He also said that the incidents of crimes are increasing in the state. He demanded to hold a discussion on this subject by stopping the work. State Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ravindra Choubey said that anyone involved in anti-national activities will not be spared in the state.
Rally not in support of Khalistan
As soon as the Speaker rejected the opposition’s demand for discussion, the BJP members started raising slogans, due to which the proceedings were adjourned for five minutes. After the proceedings resumed, the BJP MLAs again raised the issue, following which the minister said the chief minister would make a statement on the rally later in the House. Meanwhile, Congress MLA Kuldeep Juneja, who belongs to the Sikh community, denied that the rally was taken out in support of Khalistan.

Later giving his statement in the House, Chief Minister Baghel said that yesterday 35-40 people suddenly came out raising slogans without any information. The sacrifice and service of the Sikh community cannot be forgotten but anti-national activities will never be tolerated. He said that the strictest action will be taken against whoever is involved in such action. All the footage is being scrutinized, if even a single anti-national slogan is raised, strict action will be taken against them.
