The reason behind this is that Allahabad Bank has merged with Indian Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India with Punjab National Bank. Indian Bank has advised Allahabad Bank customers to apply for a new check book to avoid any inconvenience. Taking to its Twitter handle, the bank said in a tweet, “Allahabad Bank customers can avail uninterrupted access to banking facilities with Indian Bank by ordering new check books.” Because from October 1, old check books will not be accepted.
