The Punjab Government has changed the timings of all its offices across the state and in Chandigarh, regarding which a notification has been issued. The official spokesperson of the state government said that from May 02, 2023, all government offices will open at 7.30 am and close at 2.00 pm.
This time will be applicable till 15 July 2023. He said that the new time will be uniformly implemented for all offices including field offices, civil secretariat and other head offices. The state government appeals to the people to keep in mind the new time and make a plan to go to the offices to get the work done according to that time.
It may be mentioned that in summer when the demand for electricity is highest, the opening of offices early in the morning is expected to reduce the consumption of electricity significantly, due to which the state government has taken this decision so that the people of Punjab can get enough electricity. Do not face long power cuts during hot summer days.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited has said that the peak load (of electricity) starts after 1.30 pm and if the government offices close at 2 pm, it will help in reducing the peak load. will meet
