Messenger Apps Blocked: Central government has blocked 14 mobile messenger apps. These messenger apps were being used in terrorist activities. Terrorists were using these mobile messenger apps. Terrorists used to receive messages from Pakistan through these apps.

Apps banned by the Indian government include Crypviser, Enigma, Safeswiss, Wickrme, Mediafire, Briar, BChat, Nandbox, Conion, IMO, Element, Second line, Zangi, Threema.

According to reports, terrorists were using these messenger apps to send messages to their associates in Jammu and Kashmir. This has been confirmed in the reports of many investigative agencies of the country, after which the government has banned these apps. According to reports, these apps were being used by terrorists in Kashmir to send messages and communicate with their supporters and ground workers (OGW).

The developers of these apps are not in India and neither are these apps being run from India. The companies developing these apps don’t even have their offices in India. According to Indian laws, the companies of the apps could not be contacted for information.

These apps are designed in such a way that they cannot be tracked. Apart from this, it is also difficult to trace the developers of these apps. The Ministry of Home Affairs, through various agencies, found that these mobile apps help terrorists and their associates to engage in activities.
