BYD begins deliveries of Atto 3 electric SUV with 521 km range

BYD, one of the largest manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (EV), has started the delivery of its electric SUV Atto 3 in India. The company said that in January its 340 units have been delivered to the customers. This is the second product from the Chinese company BYD after the e6 MPV.

Atto 3 is priced at Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). company Has also launched its limited edition in Forest Green shade at a price of Rs 34.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company has received over 2,000 bookings for the electric SUV since its launch last year. Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President, BYD’s India unit, said, “We are happy to start the deliveries of our premium electric SUV in the country. We are receiving a very good response from the customers for Atto 3. We look forward to rapidly consolidating our position in the segment.”

BYD has used a blade-type battery in the electric SUV. Its battery capacity is 60.48 kWh. Its range is 521 km. The Atto 3’s battery can be charged from 0-80 percent in about 50 minutes. It can reach the speed of 0-100 kmph in just 7.3 seconds. It has been given Advanced Driver Aids System. Atto 3 has seven airbags for safety. It also gets a panoramic sunroof and a rotatable 12.8-inch infotainment system.

Last month at the Auto Expo, the company introduced its new electric sedan car Seal. It is planned to be launched in the country in the fourth quarter of the year. BYD Seal has claimed a range of 700 km in a single charge of the electric car. The company says that it can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds. Information about the price of BYD Seal Electric Car in the country is not available. All-wheel-drive will be available in this electric sedan. It is based on the e-platform 3.0 and is the first car to use the company’s CTB technology. It gets 50:50 axle load distribution and a drag coefficient of 0.219 cd.
