Building inspector and clerk of municipal corporation took bribe of 6000 rupees in the hands of Vigilance

Municipal Corporation Ludhiana: Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Building Inspector Vishal Rampal and Clerk Gurwinder Singh Guri posted at Ludhiana Municipal Corporation during the anti-corruption campaign on the charge of accepting bribe of Rs.6,000 in two installments. Vishal Rampal has now been transferred to Municipal Corporation Amritsar.

Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that this case against the said employees has been registered after investigating the online complaint lodged at the Chief Minister’s anti-corruption action line.

Giving further details, he said that the complainant, Jugal Kishore, a resident of Haibowal, Ludhiana, alleged that the said employees had taken Rs 6,000 as bribe in two installments in lieu of issuing NOC of his property. The complainant further alleged that the said employees had demanded Rs 15,000 in return but the deal was settled for Rs 6,000. He further said that the complainant had recorded the conversation in this regard on his mobile phone.

The spokesperson further said that the vigilance unit of Ludhiana range investigated the allegations made in this complaint and after being found guilty of demanding and accepting bribe, a case of corruption has been registered against the above employees of Municipal Corporation Ludhiana at Vigilance Police Station Ludhiana. .

He further informed that both the accused have been arrested and will be produced in Ludhiana court tomorrow. Further investigation of this matter is ongoing.
