Under the Shree Anna Yojana, India will be developed as a center of excellence or mega hub for sharing best practices internationally by Indian Institute of Millets Research, Hyderabad.

On this subject, the Finance Minister further said, ‘India has been at the forefront of popularizing millets. Bajra production has not only strengthened the food security front, but has also improved the condition of the farmers. That’s why the government will work on increasing the production of coarse grains. The government is working on increasing its publicity and dissemination among the people. So that both people and farmers can get the importance and benefits of coarse grains.

Nirmala Sitharaman said, ‘Shri Anna includes items like Jowar, Ragi, Bajra, Ramdana, Cheena and Sama rice. These things have been an important part of our diet for centuries and their benefits are not hidden from anyone. Despite this, even today many people remain deprived of their benefits. Now the government is planning to make Shree Anna a part of the diet on a large scale. Under this, preparations are being made to make the Indian Millet Research Institute of Hyderabad a center of excellence.
