Punjab Vigilance Bureau: As part of the campaign launched with the aim of eliminating corruption from Punjab, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has today caught Patwari Kabal Singh red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.
Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of Vigilance Bureau said that the said Patwari has been arrested on the complaint of Pargat Singh resident of village Dhaliwal Kaler, Tehsil Ajnala. Giving further information, he said that the complainant has approached the Vigilance Bureau and alleged that the Patwari is demanding a bribe of Rs 6,000 in exchange for amending the land transfer of his relatives.
After confirming the allegations in his complaint, the vigilance team of Amritsar range laid a trap and caught the accused patwari red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 6,000 in the presence of two government witnesses and recovered the colored notes from him.
He said that a case has been registered against the said accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act at the Amritsar police station of the Vigilance Bureau and further proceedings have been initiated.
