He rescued all the villagers by lowering them into the water and brought them to a safe place. Nannu also started drowning in water. The belongings of the villagers were washed away in the water.

The BSF personnel took the flood-affected villagers to safe places in the border villages of Kalu Wala, Tindi Wala, Nihala Wala and Nihala Lawera. BSF officials say that the Sutlej river is surging due to rains in the mountains. Many low-lying villages have been affected by river flooding.
