A video clip has been shared by Bill Gates on his Instagram handle. In the clip, he is seen riding in Mahindra Company’s electric three-wheeler (rickshaw). The clip begins with him showing himself in the rear view mirror of an electric three-wheeler. The text on the video reads, (translated) “The one with three wheels, zero emissions and no noise? It’s called the Mahindra Treo.”
He also explains some of the features of the three-wheeler and writes in the clip, (translated) “We need to reinvent the way we do everything from agriculture to transportation to get on the road to a zero-carbon emission world.” is required.”
The song ‘Babu Samjhao Ishare’ from the old Bollywood film ‘Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi’ has been mixed in the video clip.
The caption of this post by Bill Gates reads (translated) “India’s passion for innovation never ceases to amaze. I drove an electric rickshaw that can travel up to 131 km (about 81 miles) and carry 4 people.” It is inspiring to see companies like Mahindra contributing to the decarbonization of the transportation industry.”

Reacting to the post, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra invited Bill Gates and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar for a “three-wheeler EV drag race”.
Sharing it on Twitter, he wrote in the caption, “Chalti ka naam Bill Gates ki gadi”. So glad you got time to see the Treo, on the agenda for your next visit should be a 3-wheeler EV drag race between you, Sachin Tendulkar and me…”
