The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has ordered to re-verify the SIMs of customers having more than 9 connections across India and 6 connections in case of Jammu and Kashmir, North East and Assam in case of non-verification. Have been released.

According to the new order issued on December 7, customers will be given the option to choose the connection they want to keep running and the rest of the connections will be closed.

The order was issued by the Department of Telecommunications to investigate financial crimes, disturbing calls, automated calls and fraudulent activities. The department has asked telecom operators to remove all flagged mobile connections from the database which are not in use as per rules. If no customer comes for re-verification, the flagged number will be blocked within 60 days from December 7.

According to the order, customers who are roaming internationally or are physically disabled or hospitalized will be given an additional 30 days.
