Bank Strike: There is going to be a strike in the banks for two days in February next month. There will be a strike in the banks on 23 and 24 February, due to which once again people will have to face difficulties in getting banking business done.

CTU- AIBEA will remain involved in the strike
Bank workers are ready for strike once again on 23rd and 24th February. In fact, the Central Trade Unions (CTU) and other organizations have filled yes for the strike. It is believed that all government employees across the country will be involved in this strike. According to media reports, the Central Committee of All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) has also decided to join this strike.

Further information related to the proposed strike on 23 and 24 February is awaited. It is believed that steps will be taken by the government to stop this and if these are successful or if the stand of the bank unions becomes soft then the strike can be canceled or even averted.

On 16-17 December there was a strike in the banks
Just last month, on 16th and 17th of December, there was a strike in the banks and due to this the work of crores of rupees was affected. Lakhs of employees of public sector banks were on strike against the proposed privatization of banks by the government. There was a strike on 16 and 17 December 2021 in protest against the Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill 2021. Due to the effect of the bank strike, there were problems in the functioning of SBI, PNB, Central Bank of India and RBL Bank.

The government has listed the Banking Act Bill, 2021 for introduction and passing during the current session of Parliament. In view of this, the UFBU had decided to oppose the privatization move and called a strike.
