Technology is advancing so fast that we are already starting to experience the world of the future. Till a few years back, people dreaming of electric vehicles have now come very close to experience flying cars. Many giant companies and startups are now working on flying vehicles and some of them have even made electric flying cars and successfully tested them in real life. Chinese air taxi developer Autoflight recently set a new world record with its electric flying vehicle by covering a distance of 250.3 kilometers on a single charge.

Autoflight has informed that the company has flown its electric aircraft named Prosperity 4 about 250 kilometers on a single full charge. The company has also shared the video of this world record flight on its YouTube channel.

In this video AutoFlight shows a complete flight including vertical takeoff, fixed-wing cruise, and vertical landing. The Prosperity 4 is a fully electric aircraft. It is a five-seater vehicle with a maximum take-off weight of 2 tonnes and a top speed of over 200 kmph.

According to Autoflight, it does not need an airfield and runway for takeoff and landing. The company has claimed that it makes very little noise as well as it is safe and less expensive than helicopter.

According to the company’s president, Omer Bar-Yohe, the firm is working to obtain certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency for the electric flying vehicle by 2025.

Prior to Autoflight Prosperity 4, the previous record for the longest flight by an eVTOL was about 248.8 km, set in 2021 by California-based eVTOL developer Joby Aviation.
