Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The resounding victory of the Congress in the assembly election results in Karnataka is nothing short of a renaissance for the Congress party. Due to this, there is enthusiasm within the party to challenge PM Modi.

Other regional parties are also excited about this victory of the Congress because the main objective of all at this time is to remove the BJP from power at the center in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. That is why the Karnataka election results have heated up the politics of the country, but now this political mercury can rise even more because after Karnataka and before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, elections are to be held in 5 important states of the country, all of them Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are considered important.

According to reports, along with the Lok Sabha elections of the year 2024, the Election Commission may also conduct elections to the legislative assemblies of 3 states. On the other hand, after Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram are going to have elections this year, which hold a lot of political importance for both Congress and BJP.

Where and when elections can be held

Looking at the election schedule, assembly elections will be announced in Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Telangana by the end of 2023. The tenure of the Legislative Assemblies of these states will end in December this year and in January next year.

The tenure of the 40-member Mizoram Legislative Assembly ends on December 17. Apart from this, the terms of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assemblies will end on January 3 and January 6, 2024. Along with this, the tenure of Rajasthan and Telangana Legislative Assemblies will end on January 14 and January 16, 2024 respectively.

Elections may also be held in Jammu and Kashmir

There is a possibility of simultaneous elections in these five states in 2023 before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Not only this, the possibility of holding assembly elections in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh is being expressed this year. According to sources, after the end of the 62-day Amarnath Yatra that lasted from July 1 to August 31, elections may be held in Jammu and Kashmir in October this year.

Whose government in which state?

Let us tell that there is a Congress government in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. Besides, KCR’s party BRS is in power in Telangana. On the other hand, two states in Madhya Pradesh have BJP government and in Mizoram, BJP has extended its support to the ruling coalition.

The special thing is that in Madhya Pradesh too, the BJP government was formed not after winning the elections but after the split in the Congress. Politically, in none of these 5 states, the BJP won the elections on its own and formed the government, due to which the assembly elections of these 5 states will not be less than a difficult challenge for the BJP.
