Ranchi: Argora police station in-charge Vinod Kumar went beyond his jurisdiction and lodged an FIR in the ‘MLA cash scandal’. On getting the said information after questioning the MLAs and preliminary investigation, the ED sent summons and called the station in-charge on February 10 for questioning. However, he wrote a letter to ED expressing his inability to appear on the said date.

It is said that in the light of summons sent by ED, guidance has been sought from senior officials. After getting the guidelines from there, they will work accordingly. It is worth mentioning that after preliminary investigation of the MLA cash scandal and questioning of the accused MLAs, the ED had started looking at this episode with suspicion. The ED believes that registering an FIR on the complaint of MLA Anoop Singh is not according to the rules.

Because MLA Anoop Singh’s residence is not under the jurisdiction of Argora police station. The station in-charge registered an FIR going out of his jurisdiction and sent it to Kolkata. Another important thing is that a day after the arrest of Congress MLAs (Irfan Ansari, Rajesh Kachhap, Naman Vixal Kongadi) in Kolkata, an FIR related to conspiracy to topple the government was registered at Argora police station.
