Amritsar: There has been another explosion this morning in the heritage street leading to Sri Darbar Sahib. This is the second blast in Amritsar after 32 hours on Virasat Marg near Harmandir Sahib. As it was early morning, there were no casualties.
Let us tell you that this explosion took place near the same place where the incident took place late on Saturday night. So far, the police have not been able to ascertain the cause of the first explosion and in the meantime, this explosion has occurred again.
The police is still silent in this case. Police Commissioner Naunihal Singh himself reached the spot as soon as he got the information about the explosion in the morning. Detective DCP and ACP Gurinderpal Singh Nagra are also present with them.
After the incident, Amritsar Police bomb disposal squad and forensic department teams also reached the spot. The surrounding area is being searched with a metal detector. Sewage lines and gutters are also being checked.
Let us tell you that yesterday too there was an explosion on the Heritage Street near Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar. The blast was said to have been caused by a chimney burst at a sweet shop on Heritage Street, although investigations are ongoing. Some people were also injured in it. Panic spread among the devotees due to the sudden explosion.
Senior police officials said that after coming to the spot and taking stock, it was found that the glass of the parking lot was broken due to the blast. He has also said that due to the heating of the chimney of a nearby restaurant after this explosion, the gas built up inside may have exploded, but he has completely denied the possibility of any kind of bomb attack.
