Radio announcer Amin Sayani passed away due to heart attack

Another sad news has come out from the entertainment world. Famous radio announcer Amin Sayani has passed away at the age of 91. His son Rajil Sayani has confirmed this news. They said that Amin Sayani breathed his last in a hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday night. Rajil Sayani said that father Amin Sayani suffered a heart attack at 6 pm on Tuesday. He was at home at that time. He was immediately rushed to HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in South Mumbai. He died shortly after reaching the hospital.

Rajil said that we will soon issue a statement about the funeral. Amin is expected to be cremated on Thursday. Due to the death of Amin Sayani, there has been a wave of mourning among his fans. Amin Sayani was struggling with health problems for a long time. He was also suffering from back pain for the past 12 years and due to this he had to use a walker to walk.

Gained popularity from Binaka Geetmala program

Born on 21 December 1932 in Mumbai, Amin Sayani belonged to a multilingual family. He started his career as an English announcer, but switched to Hindi after independence. Sayani got huge fame from a show 'Binaka Geetmala' which aired in December 1952.

This program ran from 1952 to 1994. Subsequently, minor changes were made to its name in 2000–2001 and 2001–2003. Sayani has a record of doing more than 54 thousand radio programs. He gave his voice to about 19 thousand jingles. His name is recorded in the Limca Book of Records.
