Rupnagar: The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will make all tests and medicines available in government hospitals in 2 months with the aim of providing quality health services to the people of the state. These views were expressed by Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh while leading the meeting at the District Administrative Complex.
Dr. Taking stock of the health services available in the government hospitals of the district, Balbir Singh said that the emergency services and the labor room are being upgraded with a focus on saving the precious lives of the injured persons and pregnant women in road accidents. All kinds of medicines will soon be available free of cost in government hospitals, for which there will be no need for medical stores of Jan Aushadhi Kendra and other non-government organizations.
Expressing concern over the shortage of specialists, he said that the Punjab government has already taken this issue seriously and 271 specialist doctors have been recruited by the health department. Apart from this, the recruitment of para-medical staff is also going on and the remaining vacant posts of the health department will also be filled soon. Dr. Balbir Singh said that the Punjab government has left no shortage in the budget to provide free medicines to the patients in the government hospitals of the state.
Health Minister said that it is their legal right to get health services for the people, for which it is the duty of the government to provide treatment services to the common people at all levels. He said that our duty is not only to protect people from diseases or to provide treatment services but also to provide healthy life to people which Chief Minister S. It is the top priority of the Punjab government led by Bhagwant Singh Mann.
Dr. Balbir Singh said that Aam Aadmi Clinics in Punjab are providing better facilities to the people and have provided services to more than 10 lakh patients so far. New staff has been recruited to provide better facilities to patients in sub-division hospitals and district hospitals. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Dr. Preeti Yadav told about the vacant posts of Gynecologist including child specialist and other specialists for the district hospital.
He also told about the need to provide a new building for the de-addiction center in the district and the need for upgrading the building of the district hospital. On this occasion, MLA Rupnagar Advocate Dinesh Chadha and MLA Shri Chamkaur Sahib Charanjit Singh gave detailed information about the condition of the government hospitals in his constituencies and the need for deployment of medical officers and other necessary machinery. Punjab Police Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh was also given a guard of honour.
On this occasion SDM Mr. Anandpur Sahib Manisha Rana (IAS), Additional Deputy Commissioner (c) Mrs. Harjot Kaur, Assistant Commissioner (c) Mr. Arvindarpal Singh Somal, SDM Rupnagar Mr. Harbans Singh, SDM Shri Chamkaur Sahib Amrik Singh, SDM Morinda Shri Dipankar Garg, Additional Deputy Commissioner (V) Sr. Amardeep Singh Gujral, Civil Surgeon Dr. Parimdar Kumar, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Anju Bhatia, District Program Officer Mrs. Dolly Singla and all the SMOs and other senior officials of the district were present.
