Alerted by US agency, Mumbai Police saves young IT engineer from suicide

The increasing use of technology has many advantages as well as some disadvantages. A prime example of this came recently when the Mumbai Police saved a 25-year-old man from committing suicide following an alert from an American law enforcement agency. This person was searching on Google about how to commit suicide without pain.

An official told that the National Central Bureau of America – interpol On the basis of important information like IP address and location given by the police, the police were able to reach this person. The police reached this person working in an IT company in Mumbai on Tuesday. The man, who worked as an IT engineer in a private company, had taken loans from various financial institutions for his education and other needs. He had failed to repay the housing loan installments and due to this he went into depression. After this he started searching for ways to commit suicide without pain.

The US agency alerted the Interpol office in New Delhi about this, which in turn informed the Mumbai Police. Crime Branch officials of Mumbai reached the location of this person living in Jogeshwari. After this it was taken to the Crime Branch office and counseling was done. The officer said that this person had tried to commit suicide earlier also.

After counselling, the man was sent home with his parents. Along with this, he has been advised to undergo psychotherapy.
