Air India Express flight caught fire, made an emergency landing

An engine of the Air India Express flight coming from Abu Dhabi to Calicut suddenly caught fire. After this, the flight made an emergency landing safely back in Abu Dhabi. All passengers on board are safe.

The DGCA confirmed the incident and issued a statement saying that the engine number one caught fire during takeoff of Air India Express B737-800 VT-AYC operating flight IX 348 (Abu Dhabi-Calicut). At that time the aircraft was at an altitude of 1000 feet. After this, the plane was safely landed in Abu Dhabi. According to Air India Express, all 184 passengers are safe.
