Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira was taken away from his house by the police in the early hours of Thursday. The case is related to drug trafficking in 2015. Khaira was arrested while they were sleeping comfortably at home. After Khaira’s arrest, despite the chilly morning in Punjab, the political temperature suddenly reached its peak. After Khaira’s arrest, questions have once again started to arise about the rift in the India alliance, as the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party, which are part of this alliance, are preparing to contest the Lok Sabha elections together.
Jungle Raj going on in Punjab – Raja Waring
As soon as the news of Khaira’s arrest reached the party leaders, their anger erupted against the AAP government in the state. The Congress leaders started attacking the Hon’ble government over this action of the Punjab Police. The first reaction came from party president Amarinder Singh Raja Waring. Attacking the government, Raja Waring said that jungle rule is going on in the state.
Congress is my family.
I stand like a rock with every leader and worker.

He immediately tweeted that Congress is his family and he stands like a rock with every leader and worker. He also discussed the next legal action with the family of Sukhpal Khaira.
The recent arrest of @INCPunjab MLA @SukhpalKhaira ji smacks of Political Vendetta, it is an attempt to intimidate the opposition and is a ploy of the @AAPPunjab govt to distract from core issues. We stand strongly with Sukhpal Khaira and will take this fight to its logical

Action taken according to law : AAP
On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party rejected these allegations of the Congress leaders and termed it as an action taken according to the law. Party spokesperson Malwinder Singh Kang said that his government is not working with a spirit of revenge at all. He said that if he had to act with the spirit of revenge, he could have paid Khaira earlier.

He also referred to the action taken against his party leaders and police personnel. He said that the Punjab government is taking strict action against drugs and drug traffickers. He said that in this case of 2015, all the other 9 accused have been punished. Referring to the court’s order, he said that while the court was sentencing the rest of the accused, it had also allowed the police to conduct an investigation against Khahar.
An arrest was made in this case
In the year 2015, Jalalabad police arrested 9 persons including former chairman of Market Committee Dhilwan Gurdev Singh. 2 kg of heroin, 24 gold biscuits, a country-made .315 bore pistol, two Pakistani SIM cards and a Tata Safari car have been recovered from their possession. In this case, Khaira’s name came to the fore due to her alleged relationship with Gurdev Singh, the former chairman of Market Committee Dhilwan.
Along with Khaira, Personal Security Officer (PSO) Joga Singh, Personal Assistant Manish, a man from village Bath (Jalandhar), NRI UK resident Charanjit Kaur and Major Singh Bajwa of Bajwa Kalan village (Jalandhar) were also nominated.
