Social media sites in Bihar’s Darbhanga blocked: In Darbhanga, Bihar from 27 July 4 pm to 30 July 4 pm Facebook-WhatsApp– 22 social media apps including YouTube will be banned. Among the social media apps that have been banned immediately are WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Skype, WeChat, Telegram, Snaptish, Qzone, Tublr, Pinterest, Reddit, Baidu, Snapchat, YouTube, Viber, Line, Vinc , Buaanet, Flickr, Xanga, QQ, and messaging services will be suspended.

A letter has been issued by the Darbhanga Divisional Deputy Director Public Relations, in which it is said- ‘In view of the attempt by some social elements to disrupt communal harmony through social media, the state government has issued a notification under Section-5. Under the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885, social networking sites and instant universal services have been suspended from July 27 at 4 pm to July 30 at 4 pm in the district.

Controversy over the installation of religious flags

In fact, for the last five-six days in Darbhanga, there was a case of mutual tension between the two communities. Two groups clashed over hoisting the Muharram flag near Banoli Helipad in Simri police station area of ​​the district on Wednesday night. It is being told that there was a commotion over the hoisting of the flag near Brahmasthan. Along with this, the people of both the parties came face to face regarding the bringing of Muharram soil. After this, a large number of police including SDPO of Sadar police station Amit Kumar brought the situation under control. This case is on July 26.

Ban to prevent inflammatory post-fake news

Earlier on July 24, people of two communities clashed over the DJ playing in the Muharram procession in Kamtaul police station area. On July 25, a fierce fight took place between two communities in Mathrahi, located in Ijarhata village. Here too, two parties faced each other over the flag of Muharram. After this, the police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

In the aftermath of the commotion and communal tension, inflammatory posts and fake news were constantly going viral. Incendiary posts and fake news could have made the situation more tense. After which the Bihar government’s home department has decided to ban the internet to maintain communal harmony.

Two killed in police firing in Katihar

Earlier there was a commotion over electricity in Katihar district of Bihar. A large number of people were protesting against the power cut in Katihar’s Barsoi block office. The protest was peaceful. Suddenly some miscreants started a ruckus there. After which they clashed with the police.

Then the police lathi-charged and opened fire in which two people died. While the condition of one is being said to be critical. A video of this incident has also surfaced in which the police are seen firing indiscriminately at people. The police have said that they fired in self-defense.
