From Thursday, 19 farmers’ labor organizations had announced a strike.

On Thursday, farmers’ organizations blocked train tracks across Punjab over issues like flood compensation, MSP and loan waiver. Delhi to Amritsar, Pathankot to Amritsar and Punjab to Chandigarh Jalandhar, Ludhiana to Moga, Ferozepur, Fazilka routes are completely blocked due to rail track jam. More than 90 trains are completely affected by this.

Track jam in 17 locations

19 organizations had jammed the railway track at 17 places. It had the stations of Moga Railway Station, Ajitwal, Dagru, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, Dera Baba Nanak, Jalandhar Cantt, Tarn Taran, Sangrur, Sunam, Patiala, Nabha, Ferozepur, Bathinda, Rampura Phul, Amritsar’s Devidaspur, Fajila, Malerkotla. The farmers’ strike will continue till September 30.

Farmers demand Rs 50 thousand acre compensation

Farmers say that there has been a huge loss of crops due to flood. Many farmers have not been compensated for their losses. Those who have got it are very few. Farmer organizations say that at least 50 thousand rupees per acre compensation has been given to the farmers. Also, the central government should give 50 thousand crores to Punjab for flood damage.
