Sushil Kumar Rinku won Jalandhar By-Election 2023: During the counting of votes held on May 10 for the Lok Sabha constituency by-election, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Sushil Kumar Rinku won by securing 302279 votes. Along with this, Indian National Congress Party candidate Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary got 243588, Shiromani Akali Dal-BSP candidate Dr. Sukhwinder Sukhi 158445 and BJP candidate Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal 134800 and Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) candidate Gurjant Singh. Kattu got 20366 votes. Nota got 6661 votes.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-Returning Officer Jaspreet Singh while giving information in this regard said that Aam Aadmi Party candidate Sushil Kumar Rinku won with 58691 votes who was given the winner certificate after the counting of votes was completed. He said that out of the total 540 postal ballots received, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Sushil Kumar Rinku got 182, Congress candidate Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary got 138, BJP candidate Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal got 94 and Akali-BSP candidate Dr. Sukhwinder Sukhi got 91 postals.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-Returning Officer Jaspreet Singh said that among the independent candidates Palwinder Kaur got a total of 2454 votes, Ashok Kumar 1037, Tirth Singh of Begampura Bahujan Dravida Party 599, Raj Kumar Saki 1783, Amrish Bhagat 1085, 1060 votes for Paramjit Kaur Teji, 1047 for Rohit Kumar Tinku, 1175 for Sandeep Kaur, 1361 for Manjit Singh, 2730 for Gulshan Azad, 864 for Maninder Singh Bhatian, 1208 for Dr. Sugriv Singh Nanglu, 4599 for Neetu Shatranwala and 485 for Yograj Sahota. received
Similarly, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Sushil Kumar Rinku got 38657 votes in Vidhan Sabha constituency Phillaur, Indian National Congress candidate Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary got 31658 votes, Dr. Sukhwinder Sukhi got 29510 votes and BJP’s Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal got 5847 votes and Shiromani Akali Dal (A) got 5847 votes. Gurjant Singh Kattu got 2434 votes while Nota got 699 votes. In Vidhan Sabha Constituency Nakodar, Aam Aadmi Party got 34740 votes, Congress Party 25760, Akali-BSP 29434, BJP 10407 and Akali Dal (A) got 2768 and NOTA got 722 votes. In Vidhan Sabha constituency Shahkot, Aam Aadmi Party got 36010 votes, Congress Party got 35737 votes, Akali-BSP got 19106 votes, BJP got 7119 votes, Akali Dal (A) got 4537 votes and NOTA got 736 votes.
In the Kartarpur Vidhan Sabha constituency, Aam ADP candidate got 37951 votes, Congress candidate got 24061 votes, Akali-BSP candidate got 27269 votes, BJP candidate got 8354 votes and NOTA got 634 votes. Similarly, in Vidhan Sabha constituency Jalandhar West 35288 votes were cast for Aam Aadmi Party, 25821 for Congress Party, 21826 for BJP candidate, 6294 for Akali-BSP candidate, 1252 for Akali Dal (A) and 895 for NOTA.
In the Vidhan Sabha constituency Jalandhar Central, 25259 votes were cast for BJP, 24716 for Aam Aadmi Party, 24368 for Congress candidate, 5025 for Akali-BSP, 712 for Akali Dal (A) and 758 for NOTA. In the Vidhan Sabha constituency Jalandhar Uttari, 31549 votes were cast for BJP, 30290 for Aam Aadmi Party, 27946 for Congress Party, 6549 for Akali-BSP, 845 for Sromani Akali Dal (A) and 766 for NOTA. Similarly, in Vidhan Sabha Constituency Jalandhar Cantonment, 32217 votes were cast for Aam Aadmi Party, 25222 for Congress Party, 17781 for BJP, 14052 for Akali-BSP, 1374 for Sromani Akali Dal (A) and 792 for NOTA. Similarly, Aam Aadmi Party got 32228 votes, Congress Party got 22877 votes, Akali-BSP got 21115 votes, BJP got 6564 votes, Sromani Akali Dal (A) got 3374 votes and NOTA got 654 votes.
