Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will flag off the pilgrim train from Jalandhar to Banaras today on the occasion of Prakash Purab of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji. To finalize its preparations, Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh and Police Commissioner Kuldeep Singh Chahal took a review on Wednesday.

Both the officers visited the station and interacted with the representatives of Dera Ballan management. A train full of devotees will leave for Banaras from City Station today to celebrate the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji.

Both the officials said that concrete arrangements will be made by the district administration to make this event a success. Every arrangement was carefully reviewed and the officials were instructed to ensure compliance of the orders by every employee.

Station Superintendent SS Dutt said that the said special vehicle will have 24 coaches, out of which 1700 pilgrims will ride in 22 coaches, while 2 will be SLR bogies. Large goods etc. are kept in these two bogies. This special train has been booked by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) from Delhi and will run from Jalandhar. Meanwhile, stage preparations for the program to be held outside the railway station on February 2 are also going on at the railway station.
