Exploitation of Punjabi Women in Aboard: The Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development Department Dr. It was held at Jalandhar under the leadership of Baljit Kaur.

During the discussion held at the District Administrative Complex of Jalandhar, Local Government Minister Balkar Singh, MLA Inderjit Kaur Mann, Deputy Commissioner Deep Shikha Sharma, Punjab Container and Warehouse Corporation Chairman Rajwinder Kaur Thiara and a large number of people from different districts of Punjab. The women attended and informed the cabinet minister about the tragedy that happened to them.

The cabinet minister shared their grief and assured them that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is working hard to prevent such frauds in the future. During the discussion, some women told that the agents gave them the illusion of a job and showed them a dream of a happy life and sent them to a foreign country where they had to suffer various kinds of exploitation.

Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that such unfortunate exploitative incidents and misbehavior happening to the women of Punjab will not be tolerated by the state government at any cost and strict legal amendments will also be made to prevent it.

He said that during the discussion, the biggest problem has come to the fore through the agents, which will be removed by the Punjab government by cracking down on the unauthorized agents. Emphasizing on the empowerment of women, he said that efforts will be made to provide maximum benefits to women through the ongoing ‘Sakhi One Stop Center’ scheme in Punjab.

The Cabinet Minister said that in the districts of Punjab where Sakhi One Stop Centers have been opened, women who are victims of exploitation or violence can get immediate free help by contacting the Sakhi One Stop Center. Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the Aam Aadmi Party government is committed to the welfare and safety of women, for this purpose various schemes are being implemented under the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development and other new schemes are being sanctioned.

On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Balkar Singh said that the Punjab government’s open discussion for the construction of the first working women’s hostel at Jalandhar and policy making is a very meaningful step. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, power is being given to the people by giving place to the people’s views in determining the policy.
