A jawan of Punjab was martyred in Jammu and Kashmir

A Punjab jawan was martyred in a landmine blast in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. Shaheed Ajay Singh (23) was a resident of village Ramgarh Sardar in Khanna district of Ludhiana.

The army informed the family late on Thursday evening, after which a wave of mourning spread throughout the village. Let it be said that when a team of jawans was patrolling in the said area, where the jawan fell victim to the explosion of a land mine. Meanwhile, two jawans were also injured.

Ajay Singh belonged to a very poor family. After toiling day and night in extreme poverty, Agniveer was recruited in February 2022. Only 23 years old Ajay Singh has 6 sisters in his family apart from father Kala Singh, mother Lakshmi. He was the only sibling.

It is being told that the dead body of martyr Ajay Singh of Jammu and Kashmir can be brought to the village by the army by Friday afternoon. Currently, the family and the administration have not been informed about the time. It is possible that the last rites of the martyr can be performed on Friday.

After receiving the information about the martyrdom of Ajay Singh, SSP Amanit Kondal sent a team led by the SHO of the concerned police station to the house of the martyr. The family was consoled. The SSP said that the last rites of the martyr will be done with official honours. Will always stand with the family.

According to the information, an army team was patrolling near Pokhara post in Kalal area of โ€‹โ€‹Nowshera sector at around 10.30 am on Thursday morning. Meanwhile, there was a huge explosion in the land mine. Three soldiers present on the spot were injured. All three were seriously injured. He was taken to the hospital. But Agniveer Ajay Singh died during the treatment. The other two soldiers Subedar Dharminder Singh and Balwant are undergoing treatment.
