After the landslide victory of NDA in Bihar assembly elections, the stir in Indian politics is not showing any signs of stopping. While the ruling party is presenting this victory in the form of national public opinion, the opposition’s crisis appears to be deepening. Meanwhile, open discontent within the Congress has exposed the weak hold of the party leadership. After the election results in Bihar, while Congress leader Akhilesh Prasad Singh expressed deep disappointment over the defeat, senior leader Rashid Alvi openly targeted the central leadership and said that the performance of Congress in Bihar was “nowhere compared to the hard work of BJP.” Not only this, Rashid Alvi described Rahul Gandhi as “unattainable” and even advocated handing over the command of the party to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Rashid Alvi raised questions on the top leadership of Congress and said, “It is not easy to meet Rahul Gandhi, if you want to improve the party then give the command to Priyanka Gandhi. Let us remind you that many leaders have said the same thing earlier also that they do not get time to meet Rahul Gandhi and even when they get time, Rahul Gandhi remains busy in feeding biscuits to the dog instead of listening to him during the meeting.
On the other hand, amidst this political background, an important meeting was held on Wednesday afternoon at the residence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to finalize the NDA’s strategy before the winter session of Parliament. In this, BJP President J.P. Many ministers including Nadda, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Dharmendra Pradhan, Bhupendra Yadav, Mansukh Mandaviya, Manohar Lal Khattar were present. The presence of senior JDU leader and Union Minister Lalan Singh gave more political importance to this meeting. The agenda of the meeting was clear—to strategically corner the opposition in the session while keeping the NDA united and to give impetus to further election preparations by turning Bihar’s victory into a big political message.

In the evening, BJP President Nadda hosted a dinner at his residence in honor of the workers who contributed to Bihar victory. Home Minister Amit Shah’s address in this program made the future direction of BJP clear. Describing the Bihar victory as “the victory of the entire country”, Shah stressed that the public has once again expressed confidence in the Modi-Nitish leadership. He clearly told the workers – “We do not have to stop, start preparations for Bengal and Tamil Nadu.” This statement clearly indicates that BJP is considering the upcoming elections as an important milestone on the way to 2029.
If seen, the political impact of Bihar’s victory goes beyond the immediate boundaries. This has become for BJP not just power in a state but the basis of national self-confidence. The election results have indicated that the BJP will emerge more organized, motivated and strategy-oriented than the opposition in the coming months. At the same time, the opposition, especially Congress, is facing a leadership crisis. Rashid Alvi’s statement makes clear the depth of this crisis. The INDIA alliance was already in confusion; The crushing defeat in Bihar has further scattered him.
The biggest impact of this background will be visible in the winter session of Parliament. The increased unity within the NDA and the confidence generated by the election victory will give the government the strength to push important bills. BJP believes that the opposition is neither united nor will it be able to present effective resistance in Parliament. It is believed that the government will appear more aggressive than before regarding reforms, security related laws and economic policies.
On the other hand, a big change in the BJP organization is also near. JP Nadda’s tenure has ended and the discussion is intense about the new face of the party president. Bihar’s victory has further strengthened the speculation that the new president will be someone who can play a decisive role in the election strategy, organization expansion and 2029 mission. There are many names being discussed within the party who have a strong reach among the youth and can accelerate the expansion of BJP in eastern-southern India.
Overall, today’s politics stands at two opposite ends – on the one hand, BJP, which is ready to become the pivot of national politics on the basis of electoral victory, strong leadership and organized strategy; On the other hand, the opposition seems scattered, directionless and struggling with internal strife. If the opposition does not make immediate changes in its strategy and leadership structure, then stopping the BJP may become not only a challenge but also an almost impossible target. However, due to the strategy made on Wednesday over lunch at Rajnath Singh’s house and dinner at JP Nadda’s house, the confidence of BJP and NDA seems to have increased at the national level.
