The employment program for unemployed people aged 55 and over is being expanded with 5,000 new offered positions, with a total budget of 117 million euros, in the context of active employment policies to support older unemployed people, who face significant obstacles in their reintegration into the labor market.

After covering the 15,000 places that were initially allocated, the program is expanded and improved with the following arrangements:

– Potential beneficiaries are now defined as all the unemployed, aged 55 and over, and the condition of long-term registered unemployment (12+ months), which applied until now, is removed.

– Beneficiaries who have exceeded the age limit of 67 and have not established a pension right can participate.

– All seven unified decentralized administrations are included in the program as beneficiaries.

As pointed out in a related announcement, the program has already been strengthened and improved twice and now, with the increase of 5,000 positions, it will have offered a total of 20,000 jobs.

The duration of the program is 12 months, with the possibility of extension for another 12 months, and the monthly subsidy amounts to 75% of the salary and insurance contributions, up to 750 euros per month.

Agencies from a wide range of public administration participate in the program. For example, it is reported that a number of Public Law Legal Entities have been incorporated (such as municipalities, Regions, insurance funds, hospitals, Social Welfare Centers, etc.) throughout the territory.
