Police and Ma crowd reached the spot after youths drown in the river in Kapurthala
Four youths who went to bathe in the Beas river on the occasion of Baisakhi in Kapurthala drowned in the river. Two youths have died in the incident near village Berwal, while two others are searching. The young man went to the Beas river for a bath at around 4 pm today (on Sunday).

The team of Fattudinga police and divers conducted a rescue operation. According to SHO Sonamdeep Kaur of Fattudinga, two youths were taken out and taken to the Civil Hospital Kapurthala. Duty doctor Siddharth Bindra declared both dead at the Civil Hospital.

The deceased youths have been identified as 17 -year -old Arshdeep Singh son Manpreet Singh and Jaspal Singh son Karamjit Singh. Both villages were residents of Pirawal. The missing youths include huge son Manpreet Singh and Gurpreet Singh son Mahinder Pal Singh.
The relatives of the deceased have given written consent not to take any legal action, after which the bodies have been handed over to them. The NDRF team has reached the spot and is looking for the missing youths. The rescue operation is still going on.
