Calgary (Punjabi Newspaper Bureau) Calgary police say that more people involved in the violent clash that took place in the northeast of the city in the first week of September have now been charged. It may be mentioned that on Saturday 2nd September 2023, Falconridge area was hit by a violent incident when two groups clashed. At around 5:00 p.m. that day, when police responded to reports of an incident at McKnight Boulevard and Falconridge Crescent, the confrontation involved about 150 people, many of whom were armed. In a press conference after the incident, Calgary police Mark Newfield, head of the service, said the incident was “the worst violent incident to happen in our city”. Police say that through information provided by the public and the efforts of an investigative task force formed after the incident, 21 people are facing 47 charges so far. Now the investigators said that 10 more persons have been charged in connection with this incident. The persons accused of this incident will be produced in court on January 9, 2024. Calgary police are still asking for the public’s help. The Calgary Police website still has 25 images of the individuals involved in the violent incident that need to be identified.
