Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav and Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee President Akhilesh Prasad Singh, JDU President Lalan Singh and Bihar Government Minister Sanjay Jha were also present in this special meeting.

After this meeting, Kharge while discussing with the journalists said, “We have held a historic meeting here. Many issues have been discussed today. We have decided that all the parties will unite and fight the next elections unitedly. We all will move forward on the same path. On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi while talking to the journalists said, “A very historic step has been taken in uniting the opposition, it is a process. We will develop the vision that the opposition has for the country. We will take all the opposition parties with us and we will stand together and fight against the attack on democracy and the country.

Along with this, he said, “A very historic step has been taken in uniting the opposition, it is a process. We will develop the vision that the opposition has for the country. We will take all the opposition parties with us and we will stand together and fight against the attack on democracy and the country.

After the meeting, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said, “Now the matter is done. We have discussed for a long time… Efforts have to be made to unite more and more parties across the country. It has been decided that we will work together in the future.

Significantly, JDU’s top leader Nitish Kumar has many times in the past advised all opposition parties including the Congress to join hands to defeat the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In February this year, Kumar had asserted that if all opposition parties, including the Congress, fight the 2024 Lok Sabha elections unitedly, the BJP will be reduced to less than 100 seats.
