New Delhi. Today, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday as part of an effort to bring about opposition unity. After this meeting, Kharge while discussing with the journalists said, “We have held a historic meeting here. Many issues have been discussed today. We have decided that all the parties will unite and fight the next elections unitedly. We all will move forward on the same path. On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi while talking to the journalists said, “A very historic step has been taken in uniting the opposition, it is a process. We will develop the vision that the opposition has for the country. We will take all the opposition parties with us and we will stand together and fight against the attack on democracy and the country.

Significantly, JDU’s top leader Nitish Kumar has many times in the past advised all opposition parties including the Congress to join hands to defeat the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In February this year, Kumar had asserted that if all opposition parties, including the Congress, fight the 2024 Lok Sabha elections unitedly, the BJP will be reduced to less than 100 seats.
