Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Maan has released an amount of Rs 186 crore to the flood-affected farmers to compensate them for the loss of crops. This amount has been released to the Deputy Commissioners of 16 districts of Punjab. It was released from the Natural Disaster Relief Fund for crop damage relief.

Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa said that in the months of July and August, farmers’ crops were damaged due to floods in many areas of Punjab. He said that on August 15, Chief Minister Mann had handed over checks for the compensation amount to the flood victims, fulfilling the promise made to him. The Disaster Management Minister said that 26 crore 8 lakh 34,400 rupees were given to Sangrur district, 22 crore 44 lakh rupees to Ferozepur, 26 crore 52 lakh rupees to Tarn Taran, 59 crore 50 lakh rupees to Patiala and 12 crore rupees to Mansa. An amount of Rs 92 lakh crore has been released.
