Association of Malayalam Movies Artistes (AMMA) president Shweta Menon on Sunday said that actress Gauri G. The apology for the alleged derogatory remarks towards Kishan appears to be “artificial”. Menon’s comments come a day after the YouTuber apologized to the actress for asking a question during a recent press conference in Tamil Nadu.
In a video message, the YouTuber claimed that his question was misunderstood and he did not intend to hurt Gauri Kishan. The president of the association said, I don’t think his statement was like an apology, his expressions were saying something else. We all women stand with Gauri Kishan, no matter which industry we belong to.
Actor Aditya Madhavan, who remained silent on his co-star Gauri Kishan being manhandled by a YouTuber during the press conference of his upcoming film ‘Others’, has apologized for not saying anything at that time. “I want to apologize to Gauri. I could have spoken,” he told NDTV. The film’s director Abin Hariharan was also present on the stage during this incident.
Aditya, who has recently graduated from college and is making his debut with ‘Others’, said he didn’t know how to react in a public press conference.He said, “There’s no point in interrupting someone while they’re talking. She was making her point and I didn’t want to interrupt – she owned the place. I don’t think she needed that. Our silence is the real issue.”

Reflecting on his experiences, Aditya revealed that he too had to face bodyshaming in his childhood. he saidI was a fat kid, I’ve had that struggle. I was bullied. We do not tolerate bodyshaming,” she said and added that it is never too late to speak out on such issues – for both men and women.

Meanwhile, Gauri Kishan said that she never thought that anyone would defend her during this confrontation.“I don’t think anyone needs to speak for themselves – I’ve proved that,” he said, adding that it would have helped if Aditya and his director had spoken out.
