Youth dies due to tiger attack in Bahraich

A 28 -year -old youth who went to the canal on Sunday night in Dharmapur range of Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary in Uttar Pradesh was attacked by a tiger, killing him in the incident. A senior officer gave the above information.

Suraj, Divisional Forest Officer of the Katarniaghat Wildlife Division (Sanctuary), said on Monday that Indal Nishad (28), a resident of Mazra Tirmuhani of Harkhapur village in Dharmapur range of the sanctuary, went to defecation near the canal late on Sunday evening and during this time the tiger attacked him.

He said that the villagers made noise, made a noise but after about an hour the tiger left the deformed dead body and left for the forest. He informed that postmortem of the body of the youth is being done and after completing the formalities, the deceased family will be provided compensation of five lakh rupees permissible by the government.
