On the ‘I Love Mohammed’ protest in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh Minister Asim Arun said, “Any religious or cultural event should be held only after permission … There is religious freedom in India but any procession, Shobha Yatra, pandal programs are all after permission. It is also a rule and it is followed … No organizing rules will be the opposite, if any does not do so, then the law will be strict with it.

Jayveer Singh, a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, said on the ‘I Love Mohammed’ protest in Bareilly that such things are worrying. Some people are deliberately trying to disturb peace. Anyone who disturbs peace will be brought under the purview of justice and action will be taken against him. Minister Sanjay Nishad said on ‘I Love Mohammed’ protest in Bareilly, “This is wrong. India is a democratic country and is wrong to do religious demonstrations without permission. Our government will work to maintain law and order. These people are doing politics on the basis of religion, it is wrong. It is wrong. It is wrong. It is wrong to worship at religious places.
