7th Pay Commission: There may be a big increase in the salary of central government employees from July. Basically, the reason for this includes increase in dearness allowance, revision in fitment factor and adjustment in HRA.
After the implementation of the 7th CPC by the government in 2016, the minimum wages of employees have increased rapidly. This increase is once again possible at this time. According to media sources, steps are being taken to improve the fit factor of the employees. As the fitting factor increases, the minimum wage for workers will increase.
Earlier, Consumer Price Index (AICPI) with base year 2001 was used to determine Dearness Allowance (DA) for central government employees. However, in early September 2020, the central government changed the base year to 2016.
How much will DA increase? How much will the salary increase?
Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) are updated every 1st January and 1st July. Recent media sources have indicated that the government may increase the dearness allowance by 4% in July this year. The current DA for those working for the Central Government is 38%. However, if DA is increased by 4%, it will reach 42%.
After the increase in fitment factor, it is estimated that the minimum pay of government employees for central government employees will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000. According to sources, the government will soon update the Dearness Allowance (DA) and Fitment Factor. However, there is no official statement on this.
The current value of normal fitment factor is 2.57%. In other words, if a person draws a basic pay of Rs 18,000 in grade pay of 4200, his total compensation will be Rs 18,000 x Rs 2.57 or Rs 46,260. 6 A fitment ratio of 1.86 is suggested by the CPC.
The employees have demanded to increase the fitting factor to 3.68. With this hike, the minimum wage will be increased to Rs 26,000 from the current level of Rs 18,000.
